The earliest camouflage pattern developed by Austria was introduced in 1957, and is often referred to in English as the "pea pattern." The Austrian design consists of dark maroon, mauve, and pea green dots and blotches on a pinkish-grey field. This version consists of the 2nd pattern design that came into circulation from 1961 and continued on until the 70s . This early Austrian field jacket was often referred to as the Kampfanzug.
